Jay is my older brother.  He is a full-time employee of the Louisiana National Guard, and has been a member of the 527th Engineer Battalion since 2001.  Back in 2003, he served a tour of duty in Afghanistan.  He was also activated and worked in New Orleans during Hurricanes Rita and Katrina.  He has had plenty of stories to tell and pictures to show from those two trips.  This past summer, Jay played on our Emmanuel Baptist Church softball team.  Occasionally, we try to get in a round of golf at one of the local golf courses.   

Jay has been dating Ashley Cochran for quite some time now.  They have a house just down the road from mine.  Ashley works at The Strand hair salon in Ruston and has been known to play a mean game of Pokeno.  They also have a little Chihuahua named Gerdi who is very energetic and playful.
